What if the next time you sit in front of the chess board to play and realize that what you are seeing is not a chessboard at all?! Rob Gonsalves has created a painting that will confuse you to an extent that you will have to look at the painting over and over to understand it.
This painting will make you doubt both your eyes and your brain so much that as an aftereffect, you will look and think twice every time you see a chessboard. The optical illusion in the painting makes it look as if the child is moving the chess piece. But is he really? Or is he extending his hand towards one of the towers?
This optical illusion remains unclear and is left to the interpretation of the viewer. Playing a mind game about a game of mind is a smart move, we must say.
