Madeline Stuart is not your typical 18-year old. For starters, she’s a model. And she also has Down Syndrome. Stuart’s story is making headlines because she is breaking barriers for both kids with Down Syndrome and regular teenagers in general.
As a young child, Madeline loved to swim and dance. However, excessive weight prevented her from doing these things, so she got into a program that helped her lose weight with the support and encouragement of her mom. With a newfound energy and confidence, Stuart turned to modeling, another dream that this determine go-getter wanted to pursue. She was eventually signed by the Living Dead label, a company that prides itself in working with models with diverse body types for its campaigns.
Today, Madeline is changing the way people look at persons with disabilities. Not only can they live normal lives, they can also go after their wildest dreams and look sexy and beautiful while doing it.
